CLEAR
APET-ST SHEET
APET-ST
is produced with advanced technology that has been accumulated following
several decades in the field of PET (Polyethylene-Terephthalate).
To
develop APET-ST, the manufacturer has enhanced the impact resistance of
regular APET to become Super Tough APET-ST, an Impact Modified APET.
This
exceptional product has excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
APET-ST
is the only product on the market with all of the following combined properties:
- Excellent
impact resistance (just shy of polycarbonate)
- Excellent
clarity
- Excellent
chemical resistance
- FDA
compliance
- Easily
cut, drilled, bent, & formed
- Great
U.V. light stability
- Low
flammability
*NOTE: APET-ST
is extremely difficult to solvent bond.

APET-ST
Characteristics
- High
Impact Resistance: APET-ST sheets are extremely tough and are resistant
to fracturing and shattering, even at low temperatures. APET-ST sheets
are also suitable for applications which require high impact strength
or vandal resistance.
- Low
Flammability: APET-ST sheets do not support combustion and have
low non-toxic smoke, making them suitable for both internal and external
applications.
- Food
Contact: APET-ST sheets are produced with Polyethylene Terephthalate
(PET) which meets all the major food contact regulations, including
FDA. This makes APET-ST sheets suitable for use in food contact applications.
- Excellent
Fabrication & Design Properties: APET-ST sheets can be sawn,
die cut, drilled, and laser cut. They can also be cold and heat formed,
glued, welded, and decorated by printing, or painting. APET-ST cannot
be easily solvent bonded.
- High
Chemical Resistance: APET-ST sheets have excellent resistance to
stress and cracking caused by chemicals such as acids, alcohols, and
hydrocarbons (e.g. petrol). APET-ST sheets are easy to maintain and
a have a high resistance to general environmental erosion.
- Excellent
Thermoforming Characteristics: APET-ST sheets can be thermoformed
without drying and at low temperatures which means lower costs and higher
productivity for the user.
- Heat
Stability:
APET-ST sheets have maximum continuous service temperature of 1500F.
- Environmental
Awareness: APET-ST sheets trimmings and waste products can be recycled
which help to protect the environment.
- UV
Light Stability: APET-ST sheets are highly resistant to yellowing
and loss of transparency, making them very suitable for external applications.

* All ASTM
tests (except light transmission) were done in the U. S. by independent
lab.
[1]
Materials were tested at the same time under same conditions
[2]
Measured under test DIN 5036, 4mm thickness; other materials measure 3mm
thickness
[3]
APET has passed the vehicle flammability test, FMVSS 302; this test showed
the APET was self extinguishing.
