DURADEK^® (Pultruded Fiberglass Grating)

Duradek high strength fiberglass grating is a pultruded bar type grating that can be designed and used like traditional metal grates. The individual bearing bars are either 1" or 1-1/2" "I" shapes or a 2" "T" shape.

Duradek is also a flame retardant product utilizing a premium grade vinyl ester resin. The bearing bars use both longitudinal (glass roving) and multidirectional (glass mat) reinforcements as well as a synthetic surfacing veil to provide unequaled corrosion resistance. Fabricating with Duradek

Duradek is lightweight and, therefore, easily handled in installation, and costs less to ship than steel grating. A patented 3-piece cross-rod system both mechanically locks and chemically bonds the cross rods to the web of each bearing bar. This separates and affixes bearing bars firmly in position and distributes concentrated loads to adjacent bars. The system allows Duradek grating to be cut and fabricated like a solid sheet.

Resin & Colors

Duradek's Fire Retardant Vinyl Ester resin, manufactured from a premium grade vinyl ester resin with antimony trioxide added, exceeds the requirements for Class 1 rating of 25 or less per ASTM E-84 and meets self-extinguishing requirements of ASTM D-635. Ideal for severe corrosion applications, vinyl ester has better resistance to caustic and certain acid environments than polyester resins and can be used for most applications. Anti-Skid Surface

The top of Duradek grating is covered with a permanently bonded grit baked epoxy, anti-skid surface with optional grit material and particle sizes available.

Shapes, Sizes, & Availability

Duradek is available in three shapes and sizes:

• 1" deep I-bar
• 1-1/2" deep I-bar
• 2" deep T-bar

These shapes are assembled into 12 panel sizes for your convenience.; 3-, 4-, and 5-foot widths in each of 8-, 10-, 12-, and 20-foot lengths. Standard panels come with cross-rod spacings of 6" or optional 12" on center. Yellow and gray vinyl ester panels with cross-rods at 6" center can be shipped from the factory within 72 hours.
