316 Ground and Polished Stainless Steel

Grade 316 stainless steel is Ground & Polished - This stainless steel is an austenitic chrome nickel steel with superior corrosion resistance to that of other chrome nickel steels. 316 stainless steel is widely used in applications where exposure to chemical corrodents, as well as marine atmospheres are present. Stainless steel 316 is generally considered non-magnetic, but can become magnetic when cold worked. In addition, this material has been ground and polished to provide a tighter diameter tolerance and a better surface finish.
Alro also carries 316/316L Stainless Steel. In this material, the carbon content has been lowered to .03% max. This allows for improved corrosion resistance at heat affected zones from welding.
