7075 aluminum alloy's composition roughly includes:
- 5.6 - 6.1% Zinc
- 2.1-2.5% Magnesium
- 1.2-1.6% Copper
- Less than half a percent of Silicon, Iron, Manganese, Titanium, Chromium, among other metals.

Alro stocks 7075 Aluminum. 7075 is an aluminum alloy, with zinc as the primary alloying element. It is strong, with a strength comparable to many steels, and has good fatigue strength and average machinability, but has less resistance to corrosion than many other Aluminum alloys. Its relatively high cost limits its use to applications where cheaper alloys are not suitable.
More About 7075 Aluminum
7075 has been noted as the strongest and hardest alloy sold commercially for decades. In comparison 7175 aluminum is more pure, but may not be suitable for fracture toughness applications. The superior stress corrosion resistance of the T73 and T7351 tempers of 7075 rolled or cold finished rod aluminum have made them a logical replacement for alloys 2014, 2017 and 2024 in many of the most critical applications. In machined parts and forgings it is used primarily in aircraft, ordnance, highly stressed structural applications, keys, small gears, etc. It is more difficult to forge than other alloys, but is often selected because of its properties. Machinability of 7075 is good, resistance welding is satisfactory, finishing characteristics excellent, and corrosion resistance fair.
