Alro
Steel Corporation was saddened by the unexpected passing of Robert
Glick, former chairman of Glick Iron & Metal Company and co-founder
and vice president of Alro Steel on November 8, 2001.
Robert,
84, resided in Pompano Beach, Florida & Jackson, Michigan. His
father, Louis, founded Glick Iron & Metal.
Robert
is survived by his widow, Rose; a brother, Al; a daughter, Sue Weber;
and three sons, Carl, Barry and Gary Glick.
The
son of a scrap dealer and brother of current Alro Chairman and CEO
Al Glick, Robert played an important part in the on-going success
of Alro Steel.
"I
would have never started Alro without Bob's input," said Al
Glick. "Although he worked his entire life at Glick Iron and
Metal, he always had an integral role at Alro. He gave 53 years'
dedication to this company and a lifetime to me. You couldn't ask
for a better brother."
