Alro Group At-A-Glance

History

Al Glick founded Alro Steel in 1948 in a small warehouse in Jackson, Mich. Twenty years passed before the company opened a second location in Battle Creek, Mich. In 1964, Alro purchased a local industrial and hardware supply company and renamed it Alro Industrial Supply.

In 1994, Alro expanded its Indianapolis warehouse to become a regional hub, and built a new service center in Grand Blanc, Mich., in 1996. In the same year, Alro formed a joint venture with Riverside Grinding, in Jackson, called Alro Riverside LLC.
