PEEK Plastics
PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) plastics are high-performance engineering thermoplastics used in various industries due to their excellent
mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and high-temperature performance. PEEK polymer plastics can maintain stiffness at high temperatures
and are suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to 338°F (170°C).
PEEK Plastics Characteristics
PEEK grades offer chemical and hydrolysis resistance similar to PPS but can operate at higher temperatures. Unreinforced, extruded
PEEK offers good wear resistance and has a maximum operating temperature up to 480°F (250°C). It can also be used in hot water or steam without
permanent loss in physical properties.
For hostile environments, PEEK is a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers. PEEK carries a V-O
flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame--it can maintain structural and chemical integrity to 480°F (250°C)
Features:
Some of the benefits that PEEK polymer plastic products provide include:
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Very low moisture absorption
- Inherently good wear and abrasion resistance
- Unaffected by continuous exposure to hot water or steam
- FDA compliant
Applications:
Some of the common applications where PEEK polymer plastics are used include:
- Valve seats
- Pump gears
- High purity seals
- Bushings & Bearings
- Electrical connectors
- Wafer carriers
- Screws and Impellers
- Gears and wear blades
- Laboratory & analytical equipment
