Alro Plastics Product: Medical Grade

Alro Plastics now offers a full line of Medical Grade plastics designed for the diverse healthcare industry. These materials have been tested, approved and can be easily certified to meet the medical requirements. The three most common requirements are USP Class VI, ISO 10993-5 and FDA compliance. With our technology and ability to trace back any receipt of material we have purchased, Alro Plastics can provide complete lot and batch traceability as well as documented certification to exceed your needs. And with our full commitment to quality and ISO certification you can count on Alro Plastics to follow thru on every order. The following is a list of Medical Grade Plastics that Alro Plastics is now offering. This page serves as an overview to our Medical Grade plastics line. or more information on a specific material click on the link below each material. If you have any questions or concerns about an application please give us a call and let us help you in any way we can.

Alro is a stocking Distributor for Quadrant, Rochling, Ensinger and Westlake.

Sustarin® C MG (Acetal Copolymer)

Sustarin® C MG is easy to machine to close tolerances and is a very dimensionally stable material. This material has excellent wear properties and low coefficient of friction. Sustarin® C is porosity free and available in multiple colors.

Propylux® HS/HS2 (Heat stabilized Polypro)

Medical grade Propylux® HS is made from an FDA approved polypropylene resin. Through a unique heat-stabilizing process, the extruded material is able to withstand higher temperatures with less water absorption than standard polypropylene. Recommended sterilization techniques for Propylux® HS include steam autoclaving and cold sterilization.

SustaPPO MG (Noryl® HNA055)

SustaPPO (modified polyphenylene oxide) is manufactured from Noryl® resin. This material has very low moisture absorption and exceptional dimensional stability making it suitable for electrical insulating applications. SustaPPO is a lightweight engineering plastic that withstands most acids bases and has excellent flame resistance.

Sustason PSU MG (Polysulfone)

Sustason PSU MG is a semi-transparent amorphous thermoplastic with an amber tint. Due to its inherent resistance to hot water and steam, it is regularly used in medical applications where repeated sterilization is required. Sustason PSU is both FDA and USP Class VI compliant.

SustaPEEK MG (PEEK)

The superior physical properties of SustaPEEK MG, including chemical resistance and high temperature stability is the reason that it is increasingly replacing metals and other lower grade plastics in the medical industry. SustaPEEK MG is ISO 10993-5 certified as well as USP Class VI and FDA compliant.

Ketron PEEK LSG (Life Science Grade)

This series of PEEK materials were developed by Quadrant EPP specifically for Life Sciences applications and are pre-qualified biocompatible materials, helping to save precious time and money. Approved for both the United States Pharmacopeias (USP) and ISO 10993-1 by successfully passing a series of biocompability tests these products are implantable for up to 24 hours with Ketron PEEK CLASSIX up to 30 days.

SustaPEI MG (Ultem®)

SustaPEI MG (Ultem®) is an amorphous transparent polyetherimide plastic that offers outstanding high heat resistance (up to 365oF), high strength and broad chemical resistance. SustaPEI MG also offers excellent resistance to steam sterilization.

Sustason PPSU MG (Radel® R)

Sustason PPSU MG offers incredible toughness in applications that receive repeated sterilization. With a high heat deflection temperature of 420oF it can absorb tremendous impact without cracking or breaking. Sustason PPSU MG is both FDA and USP Class VI compliant.
