Aluminum Angle
Aluminum angle is available from Alro in grades 6061 and 6063.
6061 extruded aluminum is the most versatile and widely used of the heat-treated aluminum grades, offering excellent corrosion resistance, machinability, weldability, and strength. Its high corrosion resistance at all temperatures makes it a popular choice in applications where welding or brazing is required. It is typically used in pipe fittings, and various transportation end uses. 6061 aluminum structural angle applications are used to make a wide range of products including aircraft construction, structural components, and medical assemblies. 6061 aluminum angle is often selected due to its high strength-to-weight ratio which makes it ideal for any application where part weight is an important factor.
6063 extruded aluminum is also used to make structural aluminum angles. it has good mechanical properties and it can be heat treated and welded. It was developed as an extrusion alloy with relatively high tensile properties, excellent finish characteristics, and high corrosion resistance. It is one of the best-suited alloys for anodizing applications, including hard coat anodizing for air cylinder tubes. Due to its strength and attractive surface finish, 6063 aluminum has been dubbed the architectural aluminum. The structural strength of 6063 paired with excellent surface finish make 6063 aluminum angle a popular choice for roofs, window frames, and door frames.
