Chrome Plated 1045 Bar 75K Yield

Chrome Plated 1045 Bar 75K PSI Minimum Yield Steel Bar

1045 Chrome Plated Bar 75k is commonly used for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder applications. The process creates a hard case on the bar surface that better supports the chrome plating due to improved impact resistance.  Standard chrome plate thickness is .001'' per side minimum for a minimum 500 hours of corrosion resistance.  Note: .0005'' per side minimum also available with 1,000 hour corrosion resistance on 1045/1050 IHCP bars, links below.
Alro Steel offers chrome-plated bars (75k Yield) and induction hardened chrome-plated (100k Yield IHCP) bars with an increasing range of corrosion resistance as tested against the ASTM B117 neutral salt spray standard. The corrosion resistance is verified utilizing both in-house and certified independent laboratory testing. Alro Steel is your trusted source for premium 1045 induction hardened steel chrome plated bar.

1045 Chrome Plated Bar Properties and Specifications

Heavy-duty 1045 bar 75 yield strength is produced from a commercial-grade of cold finished and hot rolled steel bars. After centerless grinding the bars are polished and then hard-chrome plated (usually up to .001"). The bar may be induction hardened to core depth of .050" minimum with a surface hardness of RC50 minimum. The primary application is for shafting in the manufacture of hydraulic cylinders.
