Radel®

Radel® PPSU Stock Shapes

Stock shapes extruded from Radel® PPSU resins are thermoplastics that offer a superior combination of high-performance properties including excellent thermal stability, outstanding toughness and good environmental stress cracking resistance. Chemical resistance outperforms PEI materials and impact resistance is similar to polycarbonate.  Additionally, it has outstanding, long-term hydrolytic stability. It is inherently UL-94 VO. These properties make Radel® stock shapes attractive for a variety of demanding applications. The standard color of Radel® is off white, but a transparent grade is also available.

Radel® PPSU stock shapes have a proven track record of providing a strong, lightweight alternative to metals for medical applications including sterilizable instrument trays, surgical instrument handles, and orthopedic implant trials. Because of its corrosion resistance, Radel® is also used in plumbing applications as a replacement for brass in pressurized hot water fittings and valves. It is biologically inert and BPA-free, making it suitable for food service applications.
