AR500F Abrasion-Resistant Formable Steel Plate

AR-500F is a formable through-hardened abrasion-resistant plate. It is designed for high-wear applications and is often used in the mining or material-handling industries. AR-500F is ideal when prolonged service life where abrasion is the primary cause of failure.  Heat treating is used to improve forming and welding capabilities and to exhibit through hardening. The "F" in AR500F denotes formable.

Abrasion resisting steel was designed to satisfy the demand for a grade of steel that would give prolonged service life where abrasion is the primary cause of failure. The surface hardness of Abrasion Resisting Steel will vary by grade from 200-500 BRINELL.

Alro Steel also stocks other abrasion-resistant carb steel plates including:
AR235
AR400F
AR450F

Properties
Typical Surface Brinell Hardness (HB): 444 Min
Typical Uses
AR500F is used in equipment subjected to abrasive wear. Some potential applications are:
  • Truck beds
  • Buckets
  • Hoppers
  • Chutes
  • Bulldozers
