The 2nd Annual Al Glick Youth Football Camp was held on June
8, 2019. Over 300 Jackson County kids entering 4th to 9th
grade joined together for the one-day camp featuring high school coaches from Jackson County,
along with current and former University of Michigan and NFL players.
The event was held at Jackson High School's Withington Stadium on Dungy Field.
Jim Harbaugh, University of Michigan head football coach, closed the camp with a speech,
photos, and autographs. Legacy Football Organization from Brighton, Michigan ran the 4-hour
camp. Attendees of all skill levels took part in numerous football training activities throughout the day.
Prior to the camp, an event was held in the Jackson High School auditorium, Jackson County
Celebration of Football hosted by Jack and Jackie Harbaugh. All of Jackson County was invited to attend
including campers and their parents. Russell Davis served as the Master of Ceremonies with speakers
that included: Jack Harbaugh, Jackie Harbaugh, John Harbaugh via video, Jon Jansen, and Jackson stand-outs
Antonio Bass and Khari Willis via video, and Dr. Chris Hutchinson.
Jim Harbaugh offered this quote during the Al Glick Youth Football Camp about the sport of football:
"There's no other place where a young man is held to a higher standard than on the football field.
It demands discipline and obedience and builds character. Football is a metaphor for life."
