SparkForce, the FMA Foundation, presented Alro Steel with the 'Impact on Industry' award for its philanthropic spirit, strategic investments, and people-first culture, exemplifying what it means to be a true partner in workforce development. In addition, Anthony Barnes, General Manager for Alro Steel Niles, was nominated for the 'Power of Industry' award for his work with schools in Virginia. The awards were presented on October 23, 2025.
SparkForce is the charitable foundation of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA). Their mission is to attract the next generation of manufacturing workers through programs like scholarships, summer manufacturing camps, and inclusion camps for individuals with disabilities. Its mission is to spark young people's interest in manufacturing careers and address the industry's labor shortage by engaging, nurturing, and exciting people about careers in modern manufacturing.
