Pottinger Steel was founded in 1898 by Robert B. Pottinger as a blacksmith shop and general steel supplier.
In 1970, the Pottinger family sold the company to Eugene Rinehart who grew the company to become an established steel service center.
Pottinger offers a variety of metals, including carbon steel, alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum, with same-day or next-day delivery in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Operations will continue at the current Racine location, 2711 Mt. Pleasant St., under Alro Metals Outlet.
Matt Rinehart will join the Alro team and serve as General Manager.
